I’m a Christian and a writer who is fascinated with Islamic culture and I’m working on a story about a Pakistani-American teenager and his family living in the U.S. I typically come to this site to make sure that I’m picking names that are used by Muslims and I do my research on what I’m writing with the most credible sources I can find, so I do my best not to make mistakes about the culture.

One name I used, “Aydin,” is it a Muslim name? I read in the comments that it was a Turkish name. Is it an Arabic name? Could a Muslim use that name? I want to be as sure as possible about it.
