Full Meaning of Sauwd

Sauwd is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “happy”, “fortunate”, “blessed”. The name of the country of Sauwdi Arabia comes from the name Sauwd. It is derived from the S-Ain-D root which is used in many places in the Quran.

And as to those who are made happy, they shall be in the garden, abiding in it as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; a gift which shall never be cut off.  (Quran 11:108)
