Meaning of Hanoon
Hanoon is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means “affectionate”, “sympathetic”, “kindhearted”, “loving”. It is derived from the H6-N-N root which is used once in the Quran when speaking of Prophet Yahya. The English name John and the Hebrew name for Prophet Yahya, Yohanan, are also derived from the H6-N-N root:
