Full Meaning of Raaphah
Raaphah is an Arabic name for girls that means kindness, compassion and sympathy. It is derived from the R-Hamz-F root which is used in a number of places in the Quran and is the root for one of the 99 Names of Allah: Ar-Raoof (The Compassionate).
Then, in their wake, We followed them up with [others of] Our messengers and after them Jesus, son of Mary. We gave him the Gospel and imbued the hearts of those who followed him with compassion and mercy. But We did not prescribe monasticism for them: that was their own innovation by which they sought to please God. But then, they did not observe it in the way that it should have been observed. So We rewarded only those who were truly faithful, for many of them were disobedient. (Quran 57:27)
There has come to you a Messenger of your own. Your suffering distresses him: he is deeply concerned for your welfare and full of kindness and mercy towards the believers. (Quran 9:128)
