Asalamu alaikum I am having a baby boy and looking for a unique but Islamic name so I searched the Surat Yasin and came across wash shamus in 1 of the verse but I would like to shorten it to washam so what would the meaning be of that? Thank you N

Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,

Wash shamus means "and the sun". It is short for Wa ash-shams. It is not a very meaningful name. The word Washam as short for Wash shamus does not make sense in Arabic. But you can use it, since it doesn't have a bad meaning. The only issue is that it doesn't have any meaning.
