Full Meaning of Ahed
Ahed is a direct Quranic name for boys that means “one”, “unique”, “matchless”. One of the names of Allah, subhanahu wa taala, is al-Ahed, and this name with the al- in front of it should not be used as a name because it is specific to Allah. But when you remove the al-, that is when you use Ahed by itself, it becomes a general and acceptable name to use. Ahed is used in about 80 places in the Quran.
They said: “O thou great one! Behold, he has a father, a very old man: detain, therefore, one of us in his stead. Verily, we see that thou art a doer of good!” (Quran 12:78)
Your Lord has commanded that you should worship none but Him, and show kindness to your parents. If one or both of them attain old age with you, say no word of contempt to them and do not rebuke them, but always speak gently to them. (Quran 17:23)
