Meaning of Fajr
Fajr is an Arabic name for boys and girls that means “first light”, “daybreak’, “crack of dawn”, the point at which the sky starts to become light after the night (this usually happens about an hour and a half before sunrise, depending on the geography and topology of the area you live in). Since the first of the five daily Islamic prayers is situated at this time, the word fajr often refers to this prayer.
Fajr is a direct Quranic name used six times in the Quran. It is also the name of chapter 89 of the Quran.
All peace is that night until the rise of dawn. (Quran 96:5)
