    Baby Girl name

    As salamu walaikum,

    My wife name our baby girl name “Raya”. what is the meaning of name “raya”. is this suitable name?

    Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,

    It depends on how she pronounces it. If pronounced Raayaa, it is a Persian name: Raya

    If she pronounces it as [(RA)ndom] + [(YU)mmy] with emphasis on the first syllable, it becomes an Arabic name meaning “flag”, “banner”.
