Confirm if Ibteha or Ebtiha or Ibtiha a valid islamic name? If yes then what are the meanings and origin? JazakALLAH!
Answer
Ibtihaa (also spelled as Ebtehaa, Ibtiha, Ibteha, and other spellings) is an Arabic and Farsi name that means to love something, to wish to be close to something. It comes from the same root as the names Bahiyyah and Baha ad-Deen.
Ibtiha is not a Quranic name directly or indirectly, but since the meaning is good you can use it. It is mostly used for girls, but I've seen it used for boys as well.
In Arabic it is pronounced as (I)slam + (B)eautiful + (TI)n + (HA)rd. In Farsi it is pronounced as (E)mblem + (B)eautiful + (TE)nder + (HA)rd. Both pronunciations are good and acceptable. You can use any spelling you like for it, such as the ones you already mentioned.
