Rabee' (also spelled Rabi) is an Arabic word that literally means "one fourth" (i.e. quarter), and in modern Arabic it means "spring", while in ancient Arabic it could refer to autumn as well.

The month name you referred to is Rabi' al-awwal, which is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar and it means "the first month of spring". Rabi is an acceptable name for both boys and girls. It can be spelled Rabiy, Rabei, Rabeei in English. In Arabic it is written as رَبِيْع and is pronounced [(RU)n] + [(BEE)] with emphasis on the second syllable.
