Raahiyleh is an indirect Quranic name for girls meaning “traveler”, “departer”, one who goes on a journey and leaves a place. It is derived from the R-H6-L root which is used in a number of places in the Quran:
1. For the security of Quraish. 2. Their security during winter and summer journeys. 3. Let them worship the Lord of this House. 4. Who has fed them against hunger, and has secured them against fear. (Quran 106:1-4)
And when he had given them their provisions, he placed a drinking-cup in his brother’s traveling pack. Then a crier called out after them, ‘Men of the caravan! You have committed theft!’ (Quran 12:70)
