Full Meaning of Sariyya
Sariyya is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means “clouds that come at night”, “night traveler”, “rain that falls at night”. It is derived from the S-R-A root which is used in the first verse of Surat al-Isra’ (The Night Journey), which is chapter 17 of the Quran:
Limitless in His glory is He who carried by night His servant from the Inviolable House of Worship [at Mecca] to the Remote House of Worship [, at Jerusalem] – the environs of which We had blessed -so that We might show him some of Our symbols: for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-seeing.
