Meaning of Siddiq
Siddiq is a direct Quranic name for boys that means “truthful”, “loyal”, “devoted”, “true friend”. The Quran uses this word in descriptions of Prophet Yusuf, Ibrahim and Idrees, peace be upon them. Siddiq is the title of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, who was the closest companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Yusuf! O truthful one! explain to us seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured, and seven green ears of crop and (seven) others dry, that I may go back to the people so that they may know. (Quran 12:46)
