Ward, also pronounced Vard, is an indirect Quranic name for boys and girls that means “flower”, “flowery”, “rosy”. It is the Persian pronunciation of the Arabic word Ward, which has the same meaning and is derived from the W-R-D Quranic root.
(On the Day of Judgment) when the heavens are rent asunder they will have a flowery color and flow like oil. (Quran 17:43)

… that is retarded and whoever wrote is truly ignorant of the Arabic language all together. Reasons below:
1-Pronounced as ‘wh – θ – ɜː’ not Vard!
2-Indirect Quranic name… it is NOT! it is a pre-islamic name from the Arabian peninsula.
3-One of the meanings for the name is ‘Rose’ and not flower or flowery….
4- the name is also the name for a ‘Lion’…

The name of “Ward” does not mean rose, flowers or flower please correct your record. Ward is derived from Wrd in Arabic which is the name of lion. To define any Arabic name you have to get to its root. The Name Ward is a root by itself.
On the other hand, Rose in Arabic is “Wardah” in single form &the plural is Wardat or word bases on the Arabic gramercy. What causes the confusion even between Arabs is the street language term Ward for roses.
To conclude, Ward is a name of lion not rose in Arabic and its not a Quranic name.
